Sneaky Whispers
One morning, something woke me up from my deep sleep. I was trying to focus on why I woke up when I heard it in a very low whisper outside my bedroom doorway:
“I think you should tell them.” Mister Kinetic said.
“No, I’m not telling them, it’s your turn!” Miss Sunny-Hug retorted.
“Last time, I told them something, though.”
“But if I tell them, I’m going to get in trouble.” Miss Sunny-Hug was sounding sad.
“Well, you broke it. It’s all your fault.” Here was Mister Kinetic’s perfectly supportive answer. {eyeroll}
Voice breaking from tears, Miss Sunny-Hug whispered: “I don’t want to tell them, it was an accident.”
At this point, I had to decide if I wanted to pull the pillow over my head and ignore the whole overheard drama. But dreamland would never come, and my curiosity was too strong.
I sat up in bed, causing the two to jump a bit, and called them over. They sat in front of me and tearfully, Miss Sunny-Hug explained that she had knocked over a picture form the wall and broke the glass. I was immediately concerned that the younger kids would get cut, but they told me that Miss Coadjutress and Miss Smarty-Pants were sweeping and cleaning the area while the others were sitting on the couch. Thank goodness for responsible and helpful kids!
After reassuring Miss Sunny-Hug that she wasn’t in trouble for something like this, as it was an accident and not something she meant to do, I gave her a hug and told her it was fine, I would go to the store and buy a new piece of glass.
Silly kids, we wouldn’t get angry over a small thing like that. If she had taken the picture and smashed it against another kid’s head, then hmmmmmm…
Have a fantabulous day,
